Kengo Kuma in Berlin: a tour of community-based urban projects

by Naho Iguchi January 10, 2018

Six months after the visit of Rita Topa, lead architect from Kengo Kuma and Associates, the world renowned Japanese architecture office, Kengo himself came to meet us in Berlin.

In summer 2017, the team NION gained an incredible ally from Tokyo, Rita Topa, the lead architect from Kengo Kuma and Associates. She did the first fieldwork research on various architectural sites in Berlin.

A half year later, Kengo himself with Rita visited us. We took them on a tour of community-based urban projects in Berlin such as Markthalle Neun, Aufbauhaus, Imago Camera and Holzmarkt Projekt. We are truly humbled for this opportunity of co-creating NION with his team and cannot wait to announce you of a progress in the near future!
