Some are obsessed with it, others like to put it off or try to avoid it altogether. It is one of the most controversial issues in shared apartments and relationships. Everyone does it, but we hardly talk about it – cleaning.
Cleaning activities are part of our daily life. It reflects cultural, social, ecological and economic aspects. Cleanliness is also an expression of our relationship towards others and our environment.
In all cultures, cleanliness is associated with positive and important values. In German the word “Reinheit” stands for both cleanliness and purity. In kanji, the symbols 綺麗 means clean but can also be translated as: clear, pure, tidy, neat, pretty, lovely, beautiful, fair, complete and entirely.
