ARAI is a clothing Company by Berlin based designer Osamu Arai.
He draws reference from his native Gunma, the traditional center of silk production in Japan.

Part of this culture includes material that has been forgotten or overlooked, such as the by-products of silk production. Though these materials are considered traditional now, at one time they were innovative. ARAI is bringing innovation back to these materials.

These traditional materials have inspired to create new forms. Clothing that reflects, through his journeys, the creation of a new Silk Road.

Between Japan and Germany, designer Osamu Arai recontextualizes material from the past to create modern garments for everyday.

All ARAI products are made in Berlin.
